BrandingA Brand Built Around Student ConnectionCARNEGIE

NEXT is a new magazine from Carnegie about the ideas shaping higher education. The first issue brought together research, interviews and perspectives from across the industry, packaged up in something people might actually want to read. It gave Carnegie a new way to share its thinking, and something better than another brochure to hand out at conferences.

Carnegie Conference brings people from across higher education together to share ideas, learn from each other and talk about what’s changing. The experience was reworked from the ground up, with a new identity that stretched across everything from the website and social to signage, stages and the spaces in between. It gave Carnegie’s biggest event a personality of its own and made the whole thing feel unmistakably Carnegie.

Archetypes started as a workshop and became a chance to rethink how ideas get made at Carnegie. Using Claude, the experience moved from sketches to a working product in days, not months. Instead of presenting screens and asking people to imagine how something might work, there was something real to click, test and improve. It’s a small example of a much bigger shift: when the distance between an idea and making it real gets this short, there’s a lot more room to experiment.

About
After 40 years in higher education, Carnegie had plenty of history to build from. A refreshed brand set the foundation for its next chapter, but the interesting part is what happens after the guidelines are finished. From Unified Intelligence and Archetypes to new publications, experiences and tools, the work continues to push what Carnegie can be, using design and new technology to turn ideas into things people can actually see, use and experience.
